Pokemon Battles |*| Battling styles are what you do in one turn. Here are the current battling styles we allow: *Dodge, attack. Your Pokemon dodges an incoming attack, then counters with another attack. [Growlithe dodged the Water Pulse, then quickly released a Flamethrower] *Attack, attack. Your Pokemon uses an attack to dodge an incoming attack, then counters with an attack. [Sneasel used Quick Attack to get out of the way of the Hyper Beam, then exhaled a Blizzard attack] *Status, Attack. Your Pokemon uses a stat-altering or a condition-inducing move, then attacks. [Bulbasaur used Stun Spore, then charged forward with a Tackle. OR Bulbasaur lowered his voice to a Growl, then charged forward with a Tackle.] *Status, Heal.Your Pokemon uses a stat-altering move and then uses a self-healing move (Note: you CANNOT use moves such as Stun Spore or Sleep Powder in this situation) [Chansey used Defense Curl, then Softboiled.] *Status, Status. Your Pokemon uses a stat-altering move to its advantage, then a stat-altering move or condition move to your opponent's disadvantage. [Lilligant used Growth, then GrassWhistle. OR Lilligant used Growth, then Flash] |*| Dodging is limited. You are only allowed two dodges in a row. A Dodge does not include moves that protect a Pokemon, such as Detect or Protect. Using a protecting move will grant you a third dodge. *Accuracy Lowering/Evasiveness Raising moves can grant you up to four dodges in total, without using a protecting move. This means you can use Double Team twice to give you two extra dodges in a row. You may also still use a protecting move to grant you a total of five dodges in a row. |*| Five attacks per Pokemon. You may have up to four moves that a Pokemon can learn via level up, TM, egg move, or tutor, then a fifth HM move. (I.E. Charizard's move set: Flamethrower (regular move), Flame Burst (regular move), Hyper Beam (TM), Dragon Pulse (egg), Fly (HM))

Leveling |*| Leveling is simple as long as you don't over think it. Each Pokemon's EXP bar is equivalent to twice its level (I.E. a Level Five's EXP bar is Ten points). Each Pokemon is worth whatever its level is (I.E. If you defeat a level Five, you gain Five points). It's a good idea to keep an EXP (Experience) bar with your Pokemon stats in your PC Box. *Here's an example. You have your level Five Charmander against a level Five Bulbasaur. The battle ends, and your Charmander is the winner. Charmander would gain FIVE points of experience, and be half up a level. If Charmander were to defeat a level Five Pidgey next, Charmander would level up because now it has Ten points in all. From there, its bar would reset and it would need 12 points to level up (6x2=12) |*| Defeated Pokemon will gain half of their level (rounded up). So, let's go back to that example battle with Bulbasaur and Charmander. The Bulbasaur is the loser, but still gains Three EXP points (Half of five is 2.5, rounded up is 3). |*| A Draw has the same rules as a defeated Pokemon for both parties. So, Rattata and Pidgey, both level Five, fight and the battle ends in a draw. Both Pokemon would gain Three EXP Points. Leveling Solo |*| Solo Training is just what you think it would be - training a Pokemon with no mod or interactions by anyone. When making a solo training thread, please put somewhere in the title SOLO, or S followed by what type of training you're doing (I.E. Training Alone [Solo Sparring]. There are many ways to tackle solo training, but we do limit it to two styles: |*| No Battling Involved (NBI) is a type of solo training in which you work with your Pokemon in a way that they do not actually battle another Pokemon. This can include, but isn't limited to: exercising, practicing and developing techniques, using targets or dummies, etc. Level gain is based on word count in this training style. When doing this style of training, every 50 words of training gives your Pokemon 1 EXP point. Keep in mind that the only sections of your post that will count towards EXP is when your describing your Pokemon doing some sort of training. Setting the scene, ending the scene, or taking a break in the middle of training do not count towards EXP. |*| Sparring is a type of solo training in which battling is involved, but not with another trainer or wild Pokemon. This would be when you send out two of your Pokemon and have them battle against each other. All rules of battling apply, and level gain is exactly the same as a normal battle. |*| There Are Limits however. You are limited to one Solo thread per area. This includes sub-boards. You cannot make a training thread in Fuchsia City AND the Safari Zone. Also, you can gain no more than 5 levels per Pokemon per thread. This is to prevent power leveling in early places. |*| Space It Out! It's not required, but very highly encouraged that you make a new post for each Pokemon that you are leveling. This is so that it's easier for the mod to add up EXP and distribute it evenly among your Pokemon. |*| Let Us Know when you're finished. Edit the title of your thread and put Done, or Finished, so a Mod knows that he/she should look over your thread and award EXP where needed. This being said, do not add EXP or levels to your Pokemon until a mod has verified your word/EXP count and has confirmed which Pokemon gain what EXP.

Gym Battles |*| Gym Levels will be based on your team's average, but will also have a minimum. This is to prevent everyone from sweeping all of the gyms with level fives. Here's a list of all the minimums of the gyms (this applies to all regions): First Gym: Level 13 Second Gym: Level 19 Third Gym: Level 25 Fourth Gym: Level 32 Fifth Gym: Level 40 Sixth Gym: Level 47 Seventh Gym: Level 54 Eight Gym: Level 62 If the average of your team exceeds the minimum of the gym, the gym levels will be altered. This is to make sure the gyms are a challenge. So, if your team average was about level 8, the lowest level in the gym would still be 13. However, if your team average was about level 15, then the lowest level in the gym would be 15. |*| Averaging Teams will be done before the gym battle. To do so, make a spoiler with your current team of Pokemon and levels. The mod will then average out your levels and adjust the gym accordingly. |*| No Predetermined Moves are in gyms. This is because of the averaging system. However, Gym Pokemon are available to have any move available to their Pokemon. This includes regular, Tm/Hm, Egg, and Move Tutor moves. |*| Predetermined Pokemon are there, however. This will allow trainers to prepare accordingly. Keep in mind, that if your team average bumps up the gym Pokemon, Gym Pokemon will evolve if they reach the proper level. |*| Defeating a Gym gives you many rewards. Namely a lot of cash and your gym badge. You will also receive a TM (occasionally an HM), and a Held Item.
