Name:
[/u] Gemini Fields [/center]Age:[/u] 17
Gender:[/u] Female
Trainer Type:[/u] Good
Appearance:[/u] Gemini has long, dark locks of brown hair that fall to the small of her back. Strands of pale blond are scattered throughout, appearing white in sharp contrast to the rest of her hair. Her hair is easy to hide behind, and she'll often flip her bangs into her face to hide the expression in her vivid green eyes. Gemini is painfully short, just over five feet tall. More often than not, she has to look up to meet a person's eyes, so she's trained herself to simply avoid it. Her height combined with her twig-like frame makes it easy for her to slip into large crowds and blend in with ease.
Her style is simple. She keeps her clothing casual and comfortable. Her blouse is white and flowing, with puffy sleeves and a low(ish) neck. The top of the neckline has a thick piece of green velvet, so she crafted a simple green choker out of the same material to match. She wears black dress pants, which she finds comfortable. (Okay, her definition of 'casual' is a bit off...)
Personality:[/u] Many words have been used to describe Gemini: naïve, quiet, bashful, timid and gentle. She's added a few herself: modest, calm, and careful. Her boyfriend likes to throw in 'feisty' every now and then. She has a very sweet, endearing personality. She tries to find the inner beauty of everything—especially Pokemon. She can't stand cruelty or abuse, and one of the few times she will actually stand up and fight is to protect others. Pokemon battling seems to be the lone exception. The physical violence doesn't bother her—perhaps the idea of a 'reset' button (Nurse Joy, Revives) makes it okay to hurt the creatures. Maybe... some darkness hides within her, after all.
She likes to plan, but hates to worry. How's that for a headache? Gemini claims she has few pet peeves, but her boyfriend manages to find (and use) them all. Socially, she's not so great. Strangers make her nervous, so she'll often clam up and keep her responses to a minimum until she finds common ground with the other person. This common ground usually turns out to be Pokemon—her greatest joy.
History:[/u] She spent hours upon hours of her childhood holed up in her room with Encyclopedia Pokemonica memorizing move sets, type match ups, and natures. This passion—obsession—grew and grew until playing with the family Marill and discussing the anatomy of a Torkoal with her older sister seemed pointless, empty, and unsatisfying. Her sister had always nurtured Gemini's love for Pokemon. Kay always knew how to turn her kid sister from a quiet observer into an interactive friend of the wildlife. They spent hours together, from trying (unsuccessfully) to cultivate their own berries and reading up on the news breakthroughs in the Pokemon Professor's articles.
Gemini was heartbroken when Kay left. She was going to be a scientist, she said, and find where Jirachi, the Wish Pokemon, lived. Gemini only wished that Kay would come back. New Bark Town seemed empty without her carefree, ambitious spirit, a sentiment Gemini's mother shared. Just as she began to resign herself to living in New Bark Town for the rest of her life, she got her break. A tap on her window in the dead of night. A whispered plea. She should go with him, right? Of course. She promised to go see the professor in the morning for a starter Pokemon if she could please, please get some sleep tonight. He agreed, and she drifted back to sleep, dreaming of the countless adventures she would soon have.
She didn't, however, account for her mom's feelings. After telling her mother she was going to go see the Professor, the poor woman broke down into hysterical sobs. Gemini spent the morning comforting her mother, assuring her that she would call often and stay safe. Finally, with her mother's blessing, she was on her way.
RP Sample:[/u] Kay and Gemini slipped out of the house early one morning and strolled along the rugged dirt path. Gemini walked behind her sister, yawning and wondering why she was up at this hour. The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon, and the fresh spring air was sharp and cold. Not ideal for a walk, really. Couldn't Kay have waited a few hours? A few minutes for Gemini to inhale some breakfast, at least? Her stomach rumbled loudly, but Kay was lost in her own little world. She skipped along, eyes wide as if she were the little sister of the two.
The path was surrounded by trees that each had hundreds of little blooms. Spring had only just begun, but Pidgey twittered through the treetops as if they had been there for months, not days. As Gemini was about to call it quits and head home, her sister turned back to her with a wide grin on her face.
“C'mon, Gem. Look at this!” Pulling her by the sleeve, Kay led her sister to a large rectangular patch of off-color dirt. Beaming widely, she made a 'ta da' gesture, arms open wide.
“Dirt?” Gemini said incredulously. “I knew you were crazy, Kay, but this.. this is something else.”
Kay rolled her eyes, unabashed by her sister's teasing. “It is something else. Feel!” She grabbed her sister's hand and plunged it into the dark soil.
“Oh, for the love of Arceus, please tell me these aren't Miltank droppings.”
“Will you stop it?” But Kay was laughing, and Gemini smiled in return. “It's loamy soil. Perfect for planting berries, Gem.”
Gemini nodded, twisting her hand around in the dirt. Damp, dark, and cold. Not dried out and flaking like a lot of the dirt around New Bark Town. “Definitely perfect.” she agreed, withdrawing her hand from the ground. Without warning, she lunged for Kay and began smearing dirt on her face. “Let's hope for your sake that there weren't any Miltank droppings.” she said with a smirk.

Gemini shook herself out of her reverie. Things were different now. Her sister was no longer around to banter with. She may not call herself lonely, but she certainly missed having someone to talk to about everything with every now and then.
